About the Founder and CEO:
Hi! My name is Akiya Maston, I'm an author, current elementary school principal, and a 20-year veteran in education and student life. It has become my mission to develop a transformative mission rooted in lived experience to help young girls discover or rediscover themselves and their uniqueness which can add so much beauty to this world! Drawing from thousands of student interactions and a deep knowledge of youth mentoring, I have designed GPS as both a personal guidance system and scalable movement for future growth and success for girls worldwide.
At its core, GPS responds to one truth: girls should be getting what they need emotionally, mindfully, and relationally to successfully navigate childhood and adolescence with the help of nurturing and guided support. And GPS assists with that!
2 Programs: GPS Juniors and GPS Next-gen
GPS Juniors
GPS Juniors is a 6-week empowerment series designed for girls ages 5–10 (elementary school) and focuses on building a strong foundation of inner strength, resilience, and self-worth. Through age-appropriate tools and guidance, the program helps young girls and GPS Guides to navigate the challenges of childhood while preparing them for the pivotal years of pre-adolescence.
GPS Next-gen
GPS Next-gen is 6-week empowerment series centered around helping pre-adolescent girls (11-14) cultivate self-awareness, identify their values and goals, and create actionable steps towards achieving them. Next-gen provides a safe and non-judgmental space for pre-adolescent girls to explore their inner world and work towards their desired outcomes with the support of a close female figure.
